While at RoverPass, I’ve had the opportunity to use my UX unicorn skillset to do some graphic design work to enhance the product. Here you’ll find some examples I enjoyed working on.

Interactive Campground MapsWhen I was first hired, RoverPass was working on allowing campers to pay a premium to choose a specific site while booking. This project was one of the first ones I worked on, and it was particularly notable because it increased revenue and rounded out the user experience in a way I wasn’t expected to be asked to design. No one knew how to connect .svg Illustrator file layers to .svg classes in order to allow dev to easily connect UI interaction with each individual site. I took up the task, learned quickly, and it paid off. Now that we have dozens of custom maps for campgrounds and high demand, I created a design guide with color palettes, icons, and instructions on how to connect layers with classes in order to delegate the work to part-time graphic designers.

Google Maps Placeholder DesignTiny startup problems: using the resources to display Google maps when campers weren’t specifically interacting with those maps wasn’t feasible, so I was tasked with creating something to take its place. It needed to be simple but still let the user know they needed to interact with it before they could gain access to the real map. I put on my graphic designer hat and made this. It ended up saving us over $3k a month.
